So sorry I haven’t had a chance to blog as of late but I’ve been quite swamped with school work and all that jazz. I’ve had weeks where it feels as though I have no time to do anything but alas, I’ve found a break in the storm so I thought I’d just post a bunch of random thoughts.
So I was sitting in my art class today and I had the unfortunate displeasure of sitting around 4 sorority chicks. And they were the kind of chicks that like to talk about all the drama ever happening all at once. They were hating on a group of people in another sorority or something (I wasn’t really paying attention because they were being incredibly obnoxious and annoying). Anyway so after hating my life for about 2 and a half hours, I got home to my apartment and was presented with this fantastic article: http://totalfratmove.com/1206130/ which makes a lot of sense on why the chicks in my art class were being so annoying. Trust me, it is a great read. I laughed so much I actually peed a bit. But just a little bit so it’s not awkward… All I have to say about the whole situation is that she is quite hot and way to give UMD a bad reputation. Although I am not apart of Greek Life here so I’m not to worried but still.
On a side note.. I had my last swim meet for the school year/semester the other weekend. It was a home meet and only 3 teams showed up.. not a great way to go out for the season but ehh, dropped close to a half second on my 100 Backstroke so that is down to 1:13.32 which I was quite excited about. The weekend before we went to UNC for our away meet for the semester. And let me tell you.. that was one of the best weekends I’ve had. But that is story for another time; maybe. Anyway, if you know anything about swimming the backstroke, it is really tiring at about halfway. The good thing about it though is that you get to breathe the entire time which is good because I like breathing oxygen. But I’ve really tried to work on the small things in my stroke which seems to be working. I have started to move my arms faster to compensate for my lack of kicking in the second half of the race. Also I hate kicking, I don’t know what bone people have in them that make them great at kicking, but I have just accepted the fact that I will never be one of those people. I’m all about upper body all day err day. TEAM REGULINSKI RIO 2016. USA swimming mark it down.
So the Dalai Lama is coming to UMD on may 7th… and if you know me, you know that one of my all time favorite movies is “Caddyshack” and all I can think of is Bill Murray’s quote:
“So we finish the eighteenth and he’s gonna stiff me. And I say, ‘Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.’ And he says, ‘Oh, uh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.’ So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.”
So I’ve been having a dilemma on what I want to ask the Dalai Lama for when I see him on the 7th. Is he like an all magical wish grantor so I could ask for like something personal or like does he just do things? So I could ask for my degree or something along the lines of a personal jet. And to answer your question, yes I am aware he is not actually a gene but I can dream haha. But actually though, I’m excited to be enlightened with his all-worldly knowledge about everything. I hope he can enlighten me. I look forward to it.
